I started a process with Quicken loans to refinance our
debts. As time progressed I became uneasy as the loan apr changed during the preliminary qualification process. When I called the rep about it I wasn't able to reach him for a
couple days. I had given my credit card number for an appraisal so I had $$ at stake. After the last un-returned call, I did some research on the internet and was shocked to see so many complaints. After doing a cursory review I ran to the phone and called the rep to cancel the process. Couldn't get anyone to take my call. I called the credit card company and told them to freeze all action on my card. They said there had been a test on my account by QL but not an actual charge yet. I froze it. I sent an email to the QL rep telling him I decided to not go on and to understand I was no longer interested in a loan". He called me asking and tried to talk me into going through with it even though it was against my interests/. I stood my ground!. After 3 months I thought the cost was clear, so I had my credit card company unfreeze my account". The next statement showed QL had billed me for the
credit check which I was told would not be my responsibility:. I disputed it and they capitulated.. Just the way they handled things convinced me I made a mistake not looking before I leaped.. I now go to the internet and research before any major purchase:. I dodged the bullet but I am sorry for those less fortunate who got EXPLOITED by QUICKEN LOANS. p.s. go to your personal bank or credit union. They can't hide behind v.m. and internet. 129cbb0
